There's upheaval, turmoil, anguish, and fear for the safety of women, children and Christians. Our government and other organizations are scrambling to get American citizens and others out of harm's way. That's happening for some, but not for all.
Where are the Afghan citizens who are at risk to go?
It's too early to tell whether the promises of the recently restored Taliban regime in Afghanistan to treat people more fairly will hold true. It's hard to have any faith in that happening if recent reports about the treatment of women and children and Christians in the country are true.
So what are we to do?
Share the HOPE
At 89.7 KSGN, instead of focusing on the darkness, we shine the light of HOPE. To do that, we're keeping our eyes and ears open for examples of what God is doing in Afghanistan and where the refugees are relocating.
Call or text us (888-897-5746) when you come across an example of lives saved, women and children protected, and miracle rescues happening. Tell us about what you've learned and where we can find it. Those are the stories we want to share. They bolster our faith and encourage a more concerted effort toward the next thing we can do...
Pray
We can trust that the One who loves us is the One who "so loved the world" and that He also loves the people of Afghanistan. Although it may not be popular to say, He even loves those who wield power and control and do atrocious things.
Talk to Him about it. Let Him know your heart breaks, too. And if there are specific things you want to encourage others to pray about, let us know on the Prayer page.
