16th Annual Archaeology Discovery Weekend Petra: Ancient World of Wonder

The Center for Near Eastern Archaeology at La Sierra University will present its annual Archaeology Discovery Weekend featuring “Petra: Ancient World of Wonder,” Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 – 17.

The event will feature Illustrated presentations by international scholars, in-person and online, a simulated Kids’ Dig, and a range of family-friendly lab activities such as 3D tours of Petra in a video hyperwall, ancient pottery dating, wool yarn spinning, 3D replica printing and more.

Lectures begin at 3 p.m. Nov. 16 in Troesh Conference Center, Zapara School of Business and conclude with a reception at 6 p.m. Events on Sunday begin at 1 p.m. with lectures in Troesh Conference Center and a Kids' Dig and lab activities at the Center for Near Eastern Archaeology.
