Hard to believe 20 years have passed. If you're like me, you remember exactly where you were, what you were doing, when you found out that the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and that was a day I think changed all of us forever.

A lot going on this weekend… with events to honor the victims of 9/11.

Riverside County

Corona

  • At the Historic Civic Center (815 W. 6th St.), the Corona Chamber of Commerece are placing of 2,977 American flags on the lawn in the shape of “9/11 USA.”

    The free event is set for 8:15 a.m. | Flag distribution begins at 7 a.m.

    The program will include two moments of silence, at 8:46 a.m., and 9:03 a.m., to mark the times that planes crashed into the World Trade Center’s towers. 

eastvale

  • Eastvale will unveil a new 9/11 memorial sculpture and monument at 6:45 a.m., in front of Fire Station 27 (7067 Hamner Ave).

jurupa valley

  • The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10267 and the city of Jurupa Valley are hosting a memorial ceremony. (Post location: 8607 Mission Blvd.)

This ceremony is set to start at 5:45am.

Lake elsinore

  • Skydive Elsinore is hosting a memorial service and air show.

MENIFEE

  • At Central Park (30268 Civic Plaza Drive), the city is hosting a Day of Rememberance ceremony at 6pm.

Residents will be able to place flags on the field before the event, and decorate luminary bags to be placed throughout the park. 

Norco

  • At Norco Fire Station No. 47 (3902 Hillside Ave.), the Patriot Day of Remeberance Ceremony is happening at 8:30am.

RIVERSIDE

temecula

  • At the Temecula Duck Pond, a ceremony featuring city leaders will be held at 4pm.

Guests are invited to to reflect and leave a message in the city’s keepsake journal. 

 

san bernardino county

Fontana

  • At the Steelworkers' Auditorium (8437 Sierra Ave), a free, 9/11 memorial is scheduled from 10am - 11:30am.

HIGHland

  • American Legion Post 421 is hosting a Veterans Art Showcase to commemorate Patriot Day and honor the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The arts and crafts exhibition is set for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m | A free dinner will be from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. | A ceremony will follow from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Rancho Cucamonga

  • At Freedom Courtyard in Central Park (11200 Base Line Road), a 9/11 Rememberance Ceremony will be happening at 8:45am.
