It is with heavy hearts that we share about the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Theresa Ross, whose presence blessed the airwaves encouraging countless people every day through her radio show on 89.7 KSGN and other radio stations across the country for more than 20 years.
Theresa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2024. Family and friends recently celebrated her final chemo treatment, but very soon after doctors discovered additional tumors that have been growing unaffected by chemotherapy.
Theresa's husband, Phil Conner, posted shortly after her homegoing, "To know her was to love her and nobody was more blessed than me to be hers. We had a deep love that most people will never get to know. We hurt deeply, but we have hope. Until her last moment, she was serving others and being the 'joy bomb' and 'hope dealer' that she was known for being."
Theresa's smile, her positive attitude and her joy for life were infectious and her passion for spreading the gospel made her a beloved voice of hope. She created a space where listeners could find comfort, connect with their faith, and feel supported during both joyful and difficult times.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact Theresa had and the countless individuals who were blessed by her ministry. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the messages of faith and hope she shared.
We extend our deepest condolences to Theresa's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her influence will endure, reminding us of the power of faith, love, and a life dedicated to serving others.
May we continue to honor her memory by living out the same spirit of compassion and grace that Theresa so beautifully embodied.
Two of Theresa's favorite Bible verses are:
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."
Jeremiah 29:11-13 - "'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.'"
Rest in glory, Theresa. We love you and you will remain in our hearts.
