Q. What is a Community Partner?
A. Community Partners are businesses, churches, schools or other nonprofits that financially support the ministry of 89.7 KSGN on a short- or long-term basis.
Q. What would my organization receive as a result of being a Community Partner?
A. Community Partners receive announcements on the radio. The number of announcements depends on the level of contribution and the length of the agreement.
Q. This sounds a lot like advertising...is it?
A. No...and yes. In the strictest sense, Community Partner announcements for commercial businesses (a program underwriter, or sponsor) can not be in the form of traditional advertising, but they achieve similar, if not better, results for establishing brand recognition and public perception as a "good neighbor" for supporting the vision of 89.7 KSGN.
Announcements for underwriters are designed to provide listeners valuable information about your business or organization ... information they can use and act on while not including any direct solicitation or call-to-action.
Q. What's the main difference between supporting 89.7 KSGN as a business vs. a nonprofit?
A. For businesses...
The FCC carefully regulates what a non-commercial radio station can say about a commercial business. The effect is that announcements on non-commercial radio can sound quite different than on commercial radio (which is NOT a bad thing, actually!).
Over the years, we have become adept at clearly communicating the identity of a business and its products and services to help meet marketing goals - and we have some very long-term partners who would attest!
An underwriter does not "buy airtime" and announcements are written and produced by 89.7 KSGN as a message of thanks for the donation.
For nonprofits...
Announcements for tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit (churches, most ministries, etc.) are not restricted by the FCC and their announcements can sometimes sound more like what you might hear on a commercial radio station.
For the nonprofit, this allows us to broadcast the same message they might also air on a commercial station.
Q. Do these announcements work?
Yes! 89.7 KSGN connects businesses and nonprofits with the most loyal radio audience in the Inland Empire! 89.7 KSGN listeners often look for opportunities to support those that support their favorite radio station!
Q. How much does it cost to become a Community Partner?
A. The entry level for participating is much lower than you might expect for one of the most-listened-to radio stations in the Inland Empire. There is opportunity to fit almost any budget with a cost-effective approach to getting the word out about your business, product or service.
Q. How do I get started?
