"Make a Difference" for Former Foster Youth
From September 10, 5:30 PM until September 10, 9:00 PM
At Marriott Riverside at the Convention Center
LOCAL NONPROFIT SERVING FORMER FOSTER AND HOMELESS YOUTH IN COLLEGE
Inspire’s mission is to break the cycle of abuse and poverty through stable housing, education, training and mentorship of former foster and homeless youth. The program places an emphasis on education, requiring all youth 18-22 years old to attend college or vocational school, while providing housing and support while they are pursuing their education. Inspire has a total of 5 houses in the Inland Empire - located in Riverside, Corona and Eastvale. In addition, Inspire provides financial support to students who have transitioned on to a 4 year university along with monthly mentoring.
The statistics for former foster youth are truly heartbreaking. Only 3% of former foster youth earn a 4-year college degree. Without organizations like Inspire and events like our “Make a Difference” fundraiser, these youth face uncertain futures - often filled with homelessness, unemployment, incarceration, a lack of education, substance and physical abuse. Along with community members like you, Inspire changes that!
INSPIRE, the local Inland Empire non-profit that serves former foster and homeless youth throughout Southern California is hosting their 17th annual “Make A Difference” dinner and fundraiser on September 10th at the Marriott Downtown Riverside at the Convention Center.
Proceeds from the event fundraiser will be used to benefit at-risk youth within the community. Last year’s gala raised $88,000 – a mark which the organization hopes to surpass this year. The event will run from 5:30 – 9:00pm - with a $95 per person ticket fee or $725 for a table of 8. The event will feature stories from the Inspire youth, exciting live auction items and incredible raffle prizes.
Tickets are $95.
